The newly renovated Private King Room at Cromwell Backpackers is absolutely amazing! The Superking size bed with luxury linens and towels made it feel like a dreamy escape from reality. As an adult traveler, I truly felt pampered and relaxed during my stay.
The only downside for me was the partially open bathroom. It's just a personal preference, but I would have preferred a fully enclosed one.

I stayed at this hostel in NZ for 2 months and it was the best I've been to! The bathrooms were clean, beds comfy, and it was quiet at night. The parking was ample and the staff were friendly, creating a polite and social atmosphere. The hostel is mainly for long-term stays, but there were also plenty of single and short-term travelers. The towels and 1gb of wifi provided were a nice touch, and the showers were powerful and hot. I also loved the homely feeling and the TV lounge, as well as the spacious kitchen with proper wooden furniture.
Strongly recommend this hotel.

The environment at the hostel was nice and quiet, which made for a relaxing stay. The rooms were clean and tidy, ensuring a comfortable experience. the hostel provided a fully equipped kitchen, which was a great convenience for cooking meals.
The WiFi was slow and had limited data vouchers, which was a bit frustrating. The lack of lockers in the rooms and wobbly beds were also a drawback.

Very clean rooms and bathrooms, spacious kitchen for multiple people to cook, great location near the centre and bus station, attached to a mall with plenty of restaurants and cafes, modern and well-kept property.
Felt well looked after, nothing to complain about.

Small hostel with 20 beds, used to be a nursery. 'Homey' feel, easy to meet other travelers. Friendly and helpful owner who lives on-site. Conveniently attached to a mall with restaurants and cafes. Good kitchen facilities with free tea/coffee.

Loved the fact that I had my own bed and towel provided. It was a nice change from bunk beds. The showers were amazing, always hot and super comfortable.- The kitchen was well-equipped and spacious, making it easy for all the guests to use.
My room during my xmas stay did not have a heater, making it extremely cold throughout the night. The gigantic window beside the bed didn't help with insulation either.
